21 local tax issues are on the November 3 ballot in Summit County
The November 3, 2026 general election
From the Ohio Secretary of State’s list of local questions and issues, as of September 18, 2026
Every property tax levy, income tax, bond and sales tax that reaches Summit County, including those of a school district or other district based next door. Of these, 14 ask for new money (a new tax, an increase or a bond), 6 renew a tax already collected and 1 lowers one. Which are on your own ballot depends on where you live: your county board of elections has each precinct’s sample ballot and the exact wording.
How earlier votes went: since March 17, 2020, 177 tax issues reaching Summit County have been decided — 133 passed and 44 failed. Renewals passed 67 of 70; of the issues asking for new money, 38 of 76 passed; of the other 31 (decreases and replacements), 28 passed.

Aurora City
New School buildingsSchool district · based in Portage County
Bond, $96.2 million · 37 years · from Mar 1, 2027
Contruct new elementary school & transportation facility & improve school buildings
$149 a year for each $100,000 of the county auditor’s value
The county auditor’s estimate, as the ballot states it: 4.26 mills a year on average over the life of the bond. Source: the Portage County Board of Elections’ notice of election.
For a home the county values at $300,000: $447 a year $400,000: $596 a year $500,000: $745 a year
Borrows $96.2 million over 37 years, repaid by a property tax levy. Its rate is set each year to meet that year’s payments, so it moves around the estimate, and like any levy approved now it carries none of the state’s rollback credits. Your home’s county value is on your tax bill.

Continues a levy already on the bill. If it passes, the levy keeps going as it is today; if it fails, it ends when its current term runs out. Stow-Munroe Falls City School District sits at Ohio’s 20-mill floor on the state’s 2025 rates, so its operating levies, this one among them, are no longer cut when homes are revalued: what they collect rises with values, which a 2025 law holds to inflation.

$59.15 a year for each $100,000 of the county auditor’s value
$100,000 × 35% = $35,000 taxed × 1.69 mills ($1.69 for each $1,000) = $59.15
For a home the county values at $200,000: $118.30 a year $250,000: $147.88 a year $300,000: $177.45 a year
These are first-year figures. A levy approved now is charged at its full voted rate, with none of the state’s rollback credits; when the county next revalues homes, the state lowers its rate so that it collects the same dollars. Your home’s county value is on your tax bill.

Where this comes from
The Ohio Secretary of State’s list of local questions and issues for the November 3, 2026 general election, as the state published it on September 18, 2026; the results replace it once they are certified. Tax issues only: liquor options, zoning and charter questions are left out. The state files each issue under the county its body is based in; this page lists it under every county it reaches. Earlier issues go back to 2020, from the state’s results for each election.
A new property tax levy costs $35 a year for every mill on each $100,000 of a home’s value, the figure Ohio ballots print: since 2013 a new levy gets none of the state’s rollback credits. A renewal continues a levy already on the bill: if it passes, the levy keeps going as it is today, and if it fails, it ends when its current term runs out. A school district’s budget forecast is its own, filed with the state; this site’s School budgets pages show every line, and the levy calculator works one out for your own home.
Nothing here is for or against any issue. The exact ballot wording is your county board of elections’.
