Which school districts score highest?
The highest test scores in 2025-26 are Solon City’s: 112.9 on the Performance Index, with 5 of 5 stars for Progress. Next come Marion Local (111.6) and Chagrin Falls Exempted Village (111.3).
Ohio’s Performance Index scores every district on its pupils’ state tests, from 0 to 120. Here are all 607 school districts by that score, and all 88 counties averaged from them, with the Report Card’s Progress rating beside each: how much pupils grew compared with what their own earlier scores predicted.
Test scores follow family income closely, so a high score says a great deal about who lives in a district. Progress follows income much less, which is why the two are always shown together.
The 88 counties
A county’s score is its districts’ scores weighted by where the county’s homes are, so it is the score of the district a typical home there is served by. Each county opens its schools.

Rank is among Ohio’s 607 school districts; the band is the tenth of that list it falls in. The state’s own list also ranks community and STEM schools, which serve no address, so the 871 places there differ from these. Achievement and Progress are the state’s own ratings, in stars out of 5, and Overall is the Report Card’s overall rating, which combines them with four more. Each district opens its page, with its schools.
